The essence and emotion of a city a simple image can capture

I took this photo when I was 15, The first time I visited New york… I think it captures the essence beautifully… The movement, the noise, the vastness, all these elements portrayed in one simple picture. The sirens, the colour, the dreams. This image continues to intrigue me… Its ironic really, I was actually trying to capture a stunning building in Soho whilst in a moving cab, unfortunately I missed it and captured this instead. At first I was irritated that I had missed this unique building and had taken a completely unnecessary picture of a NPYD car. Over the years I have looked at this image and started to see the beauty, not only of the image but how it conveys the city. The people in the background appear to have boxes, Moving perhaps? The NYPD car that was parked appears to be moving, at a rapid pace too. This image depicts the dynamism, the truth, the hope and the loss. It describes the fulfillment the city brings the dreams lingering everywhere even people's the emotions. It conveys the vastness of the city. This image Is New York.

I was looking at images from the infamous Studio 54… Imagine being in New York at this time… Just look at the atmosphere in these images it all seems so surreal, so magical… Look at the clothing, feel the atmosphere and the happiness, the sophistication.

I spent a lovely summery day in Sydney at the Botanical gardens shooting some of my last seasons designs with a beautiful old styled hot rod that had been assembled by a friend. We spent the day eating, laughing and shooting beautiful pics until the sun went down...

TRANSCENDENCE by Tanu Vasu

I am motivated by the fashions ability to transform a person and in turn providing uniqueness and identity.
 Some of  my works have been heavily  influenced by social  architectural  cultural and scientific domains which are a contributing factor to how fashion had progressed and developed.

The garment is a luxurious piece, an elegant evening dress. Its sophistication is notable by the lavish 100% raw silk that encompasses the bodice and tiers. Moreover ornate and intricate bead work is the chief feature of the garment as the Crystals accompanied by delicate glass beads offer a prestigious and distinctive look. From my travels around the world I have taken many inspirations and the garment itself resonates with my global influences. Notions have taken from various countries such as Italy, England, India, Greece and France this has then been incorporated in the construction of the piece. The tries produce a bustle effect through the insertion of tulle, which creates the illusion of feminine beauty, a full figured frame.
