This morning I spent some time researching in the library vault of the Art Gallery of NSW, the space exudes intellectual energy whilst stimulating your thought process. The vast array of sources that can be found here are incredible... One of my favourite spaces in Sydney located below the Gallery.

Soho and NYC fabrics and trims
Today I took a little down time and relaxed in my favourite New York neighbourhood, Soho. The relaxed vibe the area exudes is what draws me it. Streets buzzing with people and unique shops are what make the area so intriguing, 'Evolution' has a skeleton guard giving you a taste of what's to come when you enter, each corner has a fascinating feature whether a replica bat skeleton to fossils this is the must visit for those fascinated by natural history. For eclectic fashion '3NY' is one of my favourites, they have it all from smiley face hand bags to quirky tees. 'Vilebrequin' for printed swimwear, COS the H&M sister brand featuring items for the classicist, modern and minimal designs. Reformation, Frankie and Intermix are a few that never disappoint. Of course there is also the number of designer boutiques such as Alexander Wang, Burberry, Chanel and Marc Jacobs to name a few... Marc Jacobs also has a bookshop a couple blocks up on Bleecker St which features cool music and books.
I spent the afternoon bead and button shopping, finding unique trims are always a great way to spend the afternoon. M&J Trimming has been part of NY trip for years, they have a vast array of trims, buttons, ribbon, everything you can think of to decorate a garment with. Alongside this are several fabric and trim shops, Mood fabrics and elegant fabrics are also well worth a visit. There are a number of fabric shops in this district specialising in beaded and jacquards. Leather impact features a large range of hides, embossed and dyed are all available. Several shops specialising in zippers are surrounding, here you can find any zipper you would like and have them cut to size.
